Additions and Alterations to the Offices of the SCM Unit

Tenders  are  hereby  invited  in  terms  of  Section  112  of  the  Local  Government:  Municipal  Finance 
Management Act, 56 of 2003 read with uMlalazi Supply Chain Management Policy for the additions
and alterations to the Supply Chain Management Unit offices as per the specifications provided in
the tender document. 

Sealed tenders endorsed “Tender 26/14/15: Additions and Alterations to the Offices of the
SCM Unit”, must reach the Municipal Manager, uMlalazi Municipality, by hand and be placed
in the tender box at the Reception at the Municipal Buildings, Hutchinson Street, Eshowe,
by no later than Friday, 20 March 2015, where they will be opened in public in the uMlalazi
Committee Room.

Prospective tenderers are requested to take note that the directives applicable in respect of B-BBEE
as prescribed in the Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2011 and the Council’s Preferential
Procurement Policy will be applicable in the adjudication of this tender. This tender will be evaluated
on functionality as specified in the tender document and thereafter tenderers who score the
minimum required number of points will be further evaluated on the 80/20 point system. Registration
on the Council’s Database is preferred prior to the submission and closing of the tender. It is the
responsibility of the tenderer to ensure that the database registration documents are received by the
Supply Chain Management Office. Further information in this regard can be obtained from the Supply

Tender documents will be available at the Municipal Offices in Butcher Street, Eshowe from
27 February 2015 at a cost of R445.00. Registration for the acquisition and purchase of tender
documents must be made prior to the briefing session and no tender documents will be sold on
the day of the briefing session. Only tenderers with tender documents will be allowed at the briefing
session. Registration can be made by contacting Reception at (035) 473-3400. Payments via EFT
must be made before 16:00 on the day before the briefing session and proof thereof must be
submitted as confirmation of payment. 

A compulsory briefing session will be held on 10 March 2015 at 10:00 at the Offices of the SCM
Unit, KV Challenor Road, Eshowe. Prospective tenderers must ensure that they are present at the
briefing session at the stipulated time. Only 15 minutes lenience will be permitted, whereafter further
participation will be prohibited.
