ULZ 30/7/15 : Proposals : Cultural Heritage Tourism Development Plan : 2015 - 2021

Umlalazi Municipality is one of six municipalities falling under the uThungulu District Municipality on the North Coast
of KwaZulu Natal. The main municipal offices are situated in the town of Eshowe. The Municipality has identified a
need to an implantable plan to reposition itself as the place for the maximum cultural heritage tourism experience.
With its rich Zulu history, colonial and missionary history and a reasonable potential for related forms of heritage
tourism, the Municipality has what it takes to sustain its future economic development through the identification,
packaging and development of cultural heritage products and experiences.

Proposals are requested from suitably qualified service providers to compile the uMlalazi Municipality: Cultural
Heritage Tourism Development: 2015/2021 over a period of no more than 4 months.
A compulsory briefing session will be held at 12h00 on the 8th July 2015 at the No 2
Butcher Street Offices at the Municipal Offices.

The RFP Briefing document will be distributed at the meeting.

Closing date: 14th July 2015 @10h00.

Proposals submitted are to be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked: uMlalazi Municipality: Cultural
Heritage Tourism Development Plan: 2015 -2021, and must be deposited in the QUOTE BOX at the SCM Unit
offices. Address A.V. Challenor Road Eshowe on or before the closing date 14th July 2015 by 10h00 on the day
stipulated. No late, emailed or faxed proposals will be accepted. The Municipality bears no responsibility for the late

The Municipality is not bound to appoint the bidder with the lowest price, as other factors contained in
the RFP Brief will be taken into account in evaluation of proposals as well.
Functionality experience in this field of work will be an Evaluation Criterion.
